Expectations. Everyone had expectations this week, including myself. Sadly, the season finale of Kyle XYdidn't meet my expectations. The previous episodes had set everything up for a rocking finale and, instead, we were treated to a mushy prom filled with teen angst, expectations, mishaps, and a spiked punch. It was such a letdown that I wonder if the the writers were already in strike mode when they wrote this.

Even if, as Nicole said, there is no formula for perfection, I expected much more from this episode. I wanted to see a glimpse of Latnok (even if it was the members at the table watching Kyle on monitors), I wanted some action (more than a leaky roof), I wanted a hint as to what Brian had decided. I didn't expect loads of answers but I did want more cliffhangers. Yes, we did get a cliffhanger that will have Kyle/Amanda fans worrying for months but is it enough to get all fans to return for season 3?

Don't get me wrong, I love the series but I feel cheated right now. For a series that revolves around mystery and conspiracy, this finale is not up to par. The only way the kidnapping of Amanda would be remotely cliffhanger-y is if it turns out that Latnok is not behind it. Right now, I see the beginning of season 3 going like this: Kyle discovers that Latnok kidnapped Amanda in order to have him work for them; he complies since he wants to save Amanda; his family and friends (including Jessi, Foss, and Adam) will try to bust him out of the Latnok facility. The end. Okay, maybe I'm cutting it a bit dry.

Even the "will Jessi leave Seattle" cliffhanger isn't one. Jaimie Alexander, who plays Jessi, confirmed that she's signed on for next season. So the only real question is will Sarah stick around or will Jessi live with the Tragers?

If you've been reading my reviews of the series (Season 3), you know I prefer the plot-driven episodes of Kyle XY. However, I do like the characters to evolve. Even if "I've Had The Time Of My Life" was character-driven, the characters didn't evolve that much. Kyle and Amanda confirmed their love, which wasn't much of a surprise; Josh and Andy decided that they weren't ready for the next step; and Lori decided to move on. The latter is surely the one who grew the most in this final hour of the season. Lori has matured a lot this past season and prom night was a turning point in her life. It will be quite interesting to see Lori next season. Now that Leclan is no more, will she still interact with Declan? Since Mark is only 19, will she go against her father's advice and give the DJ a chance?  

ATTENTION!!! Currently a little bit harder for me to make my appearance on the net...haha... Now i'm working as medical lab expertise in Paediatric Pathology Department somewhere in Capital City Kay Ell.

Wow! Another great episode that paved the way for what will surely be a rocking finale. So expect to see the prom unfold, more Sarah and Jessi dealings, and surely more Latnok. In the meantime, let's deal with this week's Jessi-centric episode, "Hello..."
 

Even if it was wishful thinking on my part, I was expecting more from Sarah when she first spoke to Kyle in the dinner. I wanted to know more about why she did what she did, what Latnok is all about, etc. As it was the case for Jessi, my expectations towards Sarah were way too high. I should have known better than to expect someone who faked her death and went into hiding for years to spill all the beans in one sitting. No matter, she did give us a few clues between her "help Jessi" and "Brian is evil" warnings to Kyle. The main thing she confirmed was that Latnok is composed of scientists that put emotions aside and work off facts and numbers. Then again, it's nothing really new but hearing it from Sarah puts it in another perspective since Adam never said much about the people behind Latnok.

Talking about Sarah,I think she proved it this week. She offered a detached and mysterious performance, which is to be expected for a character such as Sarah. I know she'll turn up next week too but somehow I hope she will be there next season. Sarah and Jessi have a lot to learn about life, relationships, friends, and emotions; it would be interesting to see them live and evolve together. Now that Latnok has its eyes back on Kyle and that Brian may be leaving the country, maybe Sarah and Jessi have a shot at being a family... at least until Brian shows back up!

Speaking of Brian, I was almost jumping up and down while watching the scene where Jessi, Kyle and Nicole confront him! Even if Foss (yay, Foss is back!) is pretty convincing even when not saying much, Brian is not done with his pet project daughter. The man lives and breathes Latnok even if he doesn't have a seat around the table. He'll probably take a step back and hit hard when we least expect him to.

Latnok clearly has eyes everywhere and anywhere. Do they follow Jessi and Kyle's every move? How did they know about what happened in the dinner? They probably decided to investigate when the news that weird stuff happened there. I wonder what they have planned for Kyle now that they know he can do greater things than expected. Remember that Kyle was seen as imperfect by Latnok.

Other scenes of interest

• Lori's description of what prom is was priceless. With descriptions like that, it's a wonder that she couldn't come up with better lyrics. Then again, if she had, we wouldn't have witness the Mark/Lori fallout and then patching things up. I was sure that Lori would ask Mark to come to the prom after he said he didn't go to his. Seems not. But I'm sure that even if Leclan is back on thatLark is not over.
• Even if I'm not 100% sure that Declan didn't plan the "being alone at prom" thing, that scene with him asking Lori to prom was cute. "I'm asking because you are the only one I want to go with."
• Josh and Andy have a great relationship and it's enjoyable to watch it unfold. They truly love one another no matter the problems and heartaches. They are the teen equivalent of Sandy and Kirsten from The O.C.
  
• I'm not sure what I think of the Lori and Jessi friendship. Did they patch things up too fast? It looked almost too convenient for the episode to have they bond. It gave Lori something to write about and had her agree to have Jessi stay with the Tragers even after all the evil things that Jessi did.
• Hillary was once again a great comic relief. Her take on life brings the needed snark: do research and get everyone laid; speak French cuisine, etc.

ON THE TWENTIETH DAY OF RAMADHAN

I did'nt know how to start this entry.

OK, let begin from this morning after Sahur... Loud the radio , turn the speaker on and I start to clean up my room, mess up.... and then just simply clean up again.. prepare what i should bring to... 

i'm happy to see my castle shine again .... hehe..

At 11 am, my family and i go to Kota Bharu buying some stuffs.... not much for me actually... more for us. At first, i just wanna buy a t-shirt until then no t-shirts lure me. So, I didn't buy it... in change i buy new boxers... hehe... and finally i've my Baju Melayu after 3 years i wore the same Baju Melayu for Raya. At first, i search for red in color... not found... then i take black and this Baju Melayu is pretty much match with me in size.

You know what ? Today is the first day Kota Bharu Trade Center (KBTC) start its operation with new branches of Giant and Parkson... so they've a lot of discount in the premises. (until September 19th). Finally, the two ways roads in KB City Center now officially turn into one way... at first it is really miserable.... 

We come home at 3 pm and directly fetch my Sis Alang from her hostel... her UPSR exam was over today.... So i ask her what is the toughest subject to kill... she said BM. BM is 'kacang' what?

Exhauted... hot day... mild headache.... I hate this...

KYLE XY SEASON 3 REVIEW AT IKHWANCALIFORNIA™ ®

episode 8

"We need to prove that we matter." - Brian about himself and Jessi

'She could be you' aired in the end of this episode as Kyle finally found Sarah. Wow, a great episode of Kyle XY. It smells like the season is almost over, Yeah with two more upcoming episodes. Episodes are getting better and offer us a good crop of background info and mysteries (aka everything Sarah-related and Brian's end game). The most interesting storyline this week was probably that of Kyle exchanging messages with the "anonymous" person, tracking down Sarah and finally coming face to face with her. We've been waiting weeks for this reveal and it's finally tonight! 

Well, Ally Sheedy is the actress playing Sarah. I must say that she is a fitting choice for such a role. Not only does she look like an older Jessi but she also has the acting skills needed to play someone who sounds like a demented genius.

Even if I can't wait to see what she'll have to say to Kyle, what I'm most eager for is when Sarah will meet Jessi. The latter is trying to emulate what she knows her mother did in the past and it's not going well. Just look at the aftermath caused by Jessi posting the test questions online. It'll probably take a meeting with the present Sarah to have Jessi stop acting recklessly and see Brian for who he really is.

Speaking of Brian, he is really pushing the envelope (aka Jessi XX) as far as he can so he can prove that they (mostly him) matter. I wonder what his presentation to the Latnok people will be like. Will he put Jessi under a microscope so to speak and have her perform various tricks for the audience in the hope he'll regain a ring? Sarah warned Kyle that Brian will go as far as destroying Jessi; does that include killing her if it means a seat around the Latnok table? For sure, the man seems on a mission and ready to face everything in everyone (including Nicole) that'll be in his way.

Other scenes of interest

• The goddesses of everything estrogen telling Kyle how to ask Amanda to the prom was amusing. They clearly didn't help him out much by telling him it's easy to ask but that he must ask at the perfect moment. Easier said than done. Not helping Kyle's case was also the girls telling Amanda that he was about to ask her to the prom! Kyle should know better than telling a secret to Hillary, the gossip queen.
• Lori is outraged at Jessi eavesdropping on a conversation between Declan and Kyle, but soon asks Jessi to tell her what Declan is saying about the prom! Even if Lori claims Declan and she are friends without benefits, she clearly still cares about him a lot. Then again, she also has a huge crush on Mark even if she keeps denying it.
  
• Kudos to Josh for putting his act together and becoming a B student. It's not an easy task and he did it well. Sadly for him, he still lives with his average student label but the redo test will surely help him show the principle that he is on the right path now.
• Jessi is getting quite powerful. Not only can she move weights and rocks but she can also heal at will. What's next? Declan told Kyle about Jessi healing him but not about the "I have to be ready part." I hope he does next week because it's an important piece of information even if Jessi didn't say why she needed to be ready. Kyle will be able to put 2 and 2 together and figure out that Brian is preparing Jessi for a show and tell at Latnok headquarters. 
  
• I hope Nicole does some digging on the social worker. She was clearly surprised to learn that Brian knew about her being on notice.

It's shower time, rise and shine. After taking a noon shower today, a message from someone came into my phone inbox. It's from Maizan...

Eikh.... at first i thought it was another technical mistake from her till then she call me... 

" Iwe.. mung dah tahu mano tempat mung posting, aku da tahu dah " 

and i said 

" No, i did'nt know " ...

Then, i keep trying to call.... beep...beep...beep.... no answer at all... nobody pick up the phone.... i don't give up... keep trying and at last... someone pick up my call. 

A little bit conversation and guess what....

What about Raya.. i don't think so that i'll be home this Hari Raya... ticket ma...  ermmm... "sedey nyer aku" but i still can come home with my aunt. Haha... "tu pun kalau boleh balik la".

This evening, my best friend, Hamdan came to my house and we're talking about one and half hours.. He will be posted as Hospital Assistant (HA)  in HSNZ, Terengganu. He told me that our form six friends will gather for reunion on the third of Hari Raya at Pantai Irama (2pm).

Insyaallah i'll be in Kay Ell this Sunday morning... Pray for us..
